Edd Davies Artist & Designer - Mixing Mediums, Pop Culture and Landscape
Edd has been working under the monicker EDDSCAPE since his art school days in Bristol in the late nineties. He is a graphic artist who is passionate about creating colourful, aesthetically pleasing and affordable art. His work features urban scenes and landscapes which he produces as mixed media prints and paintings. He created the "Eddscape Creates" brand in 2012 and is known for his MadeUpMovie posters featuring Scottish landmarks.
Self taught in computer design skills, he now creates art built around his sketches (using pen, pencil, paper & iPad). He then uses adobe illustrator and photographic textures to create detailed finished pieces.
He lives on the coast on the outskirts of Edinburgh in Scotland. Inspired directly by his surroundings, he travels around Scotland with his camera to gather inspiration and textures (mostly pictures of walls!).
To date he has completed commissions and design work for many individuals and businesses. One of his favourite being a bespoke poster created for the famous "S.Lucas Ice Cream" of Musselburgh, which adorns the walls of their two restaurants.
environment & Sustainability
Throughout my business practice I try to be as environmentally aware as possible. I reuse packaging, recycle and actively reduce my use of plastic. My products are supplied by firms based in Edinburgh & Lothian (tote bags/mugs); Northern England(Frames/calendars/tea towels) and southern England for my Prints; I sell my artwork and products through local independent shops and events.
Biography
Edd graduated from UWE Bristol achieving a BaHons in Fine Art. He has lived in Bristol, London and Edinburgh and now resides in the "Honest Toun" of Musselburgh.
He has exhibited extensively in Edinburgh and been featured in the Edinburgh Evening News, STV Online and Creative Collective Magazine. He has been a regular at - Summerhall Xmas Market/ Colony Of Artists Annual Exhibition / The WestEnd Craft,Art&Design Fair 3D2D / The Out Of The Blue Arts Market.
Edd has created artwork, logos, illustrations, murals & brochures for many individuals and businesses. Previous Commissions include - The Seabird Centre, The Scottish Storytelling Centre; RSPB ; S.Lucas Ice Cream ; and RNA Society
